Founder Statement

Henry Chan started his career in the banking industry in which he was a sales marketing manager for 5 years. His interest for the bubble tea business sparked during his holiday trip to Vietnam in 2011. During his trip, he found that the bubble tea business was growing rapidly in the country that is mainly known for its pagodas and rives. Upon ordering himself a cup, he discovered that the bubble teas that were being served there were made out of powder. It immediately occurred to him that the same drink, made out of fresh tea leaves would be a much healthier and tastier alternative.

With his newfound knowledge he returned to Malaysia and his interest grew by the day, but it wasn't until 2012 he finally managed to penetrate the market. In that year, he founded Xing Cha and subsequently opened his first overseas outlet in Hanoi, Vietnam. Todate, he has opened a total of 42 outlets.

He is a firm believer that if you have the passion for something, you should pour your heart into it otherwise nothing changes.
